Dual Ball Bearing GT2871R turbo (base Garrett P/N 472560-15) assembly with T25 style turbine inlet. Comes with internally wastegated style T25 style turbine housing and GT28R style compressor housing. This turbo is great for small displacement engines up to 2.2L and has the ultimate spool up time compared to other units. This turbo has a flow capacity of about 400HP. The external packaging of this turbo can be identical to that of the GT28R (if GT28R style actuator is chosen) and can be a nice stealty upgrade to step up to 400HP of flow without much re-arrangement. GT28RS style actuator is available for kit applications where the end housings are similar, but the wastegate position is unique and the actuator mounting position requires more flexibility with regard to compressor housing rotation (clocking position). Obtaining the optimum cylinder head-to-block sealing is especially critical in small displacement engines employing high compression pistons or power adders like turbochargers, nitrous oxide and superchargers. That's why ARP® head studs are popular among leading Sport Compact/Import racers. You should know that ARP® uses a premium grade 8740 alloy that is rated far superior to "aircraft" quality. Then, each stud is precisely heat-treated to 200,000 psi. Following heat treatment, each stud is centerless ground to make it as close to perfectly concentric as possible. This procedure involves about ten very slight cuts and results in an exceptionally straight part. It's important to note that lesser quality studs are not even centerless ground--the material is thread rolled in bar stock form (mostly before heat-treat, when the material is easier to machine). Because ARP® studs are manufactured to such exacting tolerances, you will note that gaskets and cylinder heads literally glide into position and are perfectly aligned--something that won't happen with inferior quality head studs. ARP® studs are thread rolled after heat-treat, which gives them about 1000% (that's ten times) better fatigue strength than those studs that are threaded prior to heat-treat. You will also note that ARP® offers specially undercut studs for several engines. This procedure (done only to the shorter studs) more equalizes the "stretch" of both studs, which makes for a more consistent clamping force--one that compensates for head gasket compression when the head is installed. The Super Sequential Blow-Off Valve (SSQV) is a pull type relief valve. This means that pressure forces the valve shut unlike most valves which are pushed open slightly under boost. The SSQV is actuated by pressure alterations only, ensuring quick valve response and complete closure during idle. Typical blow-off valves utilize large valves in order to accommodate high boost/high hp applications. However, these large valves react slowly and require high activation pressure to open. Smaller, fast reacting valves, do not permit the air flow required for high horsepower. The SSQV incorporates both for maximum performance. It is engineered utilizing a small primary valve and a secondary valve for additional relief capacity. The SSQV is made of billet aluminum and emits a unique aggressive sound.
